HDR + Photoshop

I've tried taking some more HDR photos.

This one i did earlier but i also converted to a vector image.
I'm starting to get a little better processing HDR photos but i still have a while before they look they way i want them too. But i am getting better with Photoshop. Just in changing the contrast, color, saturation, levels....

Here's some old photos that i've recently improved. This photo originally came out very dull looking. I increased the color and contrast to make it appear the way the Grand Canyon really looked that day.
Here's a picture i took in Arizona. I did a bunch of stuff to this as well and ended up changing it to black and white.

My favorite sculpture, The Bean in Chicago.


This one i didn't do a whole lot to. This is actually how Sedona looks.
I've found that after a while i do the same 4 or 5 things to most of the photos in Photoshop. Here's sunrise at Lake Erie
Pictures like these of sunrises or sunsets are difficult because of the huge change in light. Some areas are dark and some are very bright. I tried to use Photoshop to get a good balance.

Mailing Coconuts

While in the grocery store i saw coconuts on sale so i bought 3. I read somewhere and then i saw it was on Mythbusters, that you can send a coconut in the mail. Not in a box, but just by putting the address and a few stamps on it. I decided to mail them to Adam in Arizona, John in Colorado and Katie & John in Michigan.

They each weighed over 2 pounds at first, but at home i drilled a small hole and emptied out the liquid.

Then i used hot glue to fill the hole.

I wrote their addresses on them then went to the post office. At that point, while waiting in line i realized how dumb this was, but the lady there said ya it's no problem. At the post office they weighed about a pound and a half. Postage was $5.
Katie and Adam said the coconuts arrived so i guess the stamps stayed on. I'm not sure what happened to the one i sent John, it's M.I.A.

Spring Training - 2011

I went Arizona again this year for spring training baseball. I was there with Adam and John, John's uncle and his buddy Opitz. We saw 4 games in three days between March 11th -13th. I think the teams we saw were the Mariners, Diamondbacks, Angels, Padres, Rockies, and Reds.

I tried taking some panorama pictures of the fields. Like before i took 3 to 5 overlapping pictures and combined them using the program AutoStitch.

It's a little blurry but look at both of the pitchers names. UNKNOWN.

LV - AZ - LA - CO

Well i just got back from my almost 3 weeks of being on vacation. I don't really feel like typing out everything that happened so i'll just do a quick outline:

Las Vegas

• Walked up and down the strip several times and had a great time
• Went to the ACMA's, got to be seat fillers and part of Taylor Swift's song
• Went to an outdoor concert on Freemont street
• Stopped at the Grand Canyon on the drive to Arizona

Arizona

• Went to Sedona National Park
• Went hiking several days in Globe Arizona, somewhere between 4,000 and 8,000 ft

Los Angeles

• Went to an Dodgers game
• Got to be on the Price is Right show (airs May 27th)
• Went to Universal Studio

Colorado

• Went to Garden of the Gods, which is at the base of the Rocky's near Pikes Peak
• Went to the Sugarland concert

I guess some other things happened too, like being stopped by the police in Kansas. Apparently they thought we were drug traffickers, going from Arizona to Detroit. Luckily we were able to outsmarted them and get away.

That's about it.

Trip Update

I'm still in Arizona but here are a couple of pictures from my trip so far. I'll be sure to post more when i get home in a week or so. As of right now i've walked the Las Vegas strip for a few days, went to a concert on Freemont Street in "old vegas" visited the Grand Canyon, and Sedona Arizona. Lots of walking.
