Last week i spent 2 days surveying near Lexington Kentucky and 2 days near Cincinnati Ohio.

The site we surveyed in Kentucky was right by a Dixie Cup plant, i liked their water tower.

Down south they have lots of cockroaches in their sewers. They were big too.

We drove through part of downtown Cincinnati.

I got to eat at the original Montgomery Inn, in Montgomery Ohio. The ribs were probably the best i've ever had.

Cleveland

Last month i went to Lakewood Ohio for 3 days for work. I helped survey an AT&T building.

The last day we stopped in Cleveland for more information about the property so i roamed around.

Jackson

Well more out of town surveying. This time however i was closer to home, Jackson, Michigan. We worked anywhere from 11 to 13 hours a day in corn fields and in swamps. Although it felt like the fields were few and far between. It mostly consisted of being ankle deep in black mucky water, cutting bushes with a machete. The final tally:

Number of times falling/sinking waist deep in the swamp................24
Number of times falling face first in the water.............................2

Percentage of body covered in poison sumac after 2 weeks.............30%

And yes i won the contest for the person with the most poison sumac. Later i'll post the pictures of me having to go to the hospital for that.

This was after having to walk around with 3" of muck in my boots for several hours.
After 3 days of leaving my "formerly white" socks on the AC unit outside our motel, the cleaning lady finally threw these out. I WAS going to have quite a collection going.

1st Time in New York

This time surveying out of time we were sent to New York. I've never been in the state of New York and so far it's been great. Yesterday we surveyed the Elmira Regional Airport. It was great being able to walk across the runways after getting permission from the flight controller over the CB and being only a few hundred feet from the planes landing. Also this time surveying was a little different then what i've done before. Instead of walking along the roads, now i get to walk through farmers fields, swamps and woods.

Other then the airport, i had the most fun walking through horse corrals. It was a little scary at first but after a while the would just follow me around. The lady that worked there said we could go for a ride some time. I'm hoping we get a day off soon.

Next week we'll be heading to Scranton Pennsylvania. I hope that i can get time to walk around and see some of the places in the opening credits of The Office.

If everything goes well, i'll be home by the 4th of July. Otherwise it looks like i'll be watching fireworks in Scranton.

Ok i just found this.... I was uploading the pictures onto the Comfort Inn hotels lobby computer and came across this picture that was saved in the My Pictures folder. I don't know what it is, or why it is on there but it's hilarious. Just some dude hanging out on his couch, with his cat, in front of his extensive VHS collection. I just know that this is the picture that comes up when you find this guy on some online dating service...
