Dry Ice at Night

Last week Karrie called me and asked if i wanted a styrofoam cooler filled with dry ice that they were going to throw out at her work. I said "uh yaaaaaa."

If it was a Saturday and i lived down in Alabama this is what i would have done with it.

But instead of that, i just decided to spray it with the hose and create tons of fog. Just like the pictures i took last year of the snow in my backyard, i used a tripod and kept the lens open for 8 seconds.

Here's a video if what it looked like.

The smoke lasted for about 15 minutes. The only bad thing is that by the time i figured out the best angle to take the picture, most of the fog was gone.

Snowy Night

Last week i was reading online about how to take better pictures at night. All the pictures i used to take were real grainy or blurry. So after the big snow storm i shoveled the driveway at 10pm then went in the back yard and started experimenting with my camera.

The first few pictures came out really poorly but slowly got better and better. These were taken with the lens being open for 4 to 8 seconds. The camera had to be set on a tripod to making sure it didn't move at all. I did leave the porch light on for a couple to create some cool shadows.

With the lens open for the maximum that my camera would allow, 8 seconds, i tried writing my name with a flashlight and shining the light on me to make a ghosting effect.

Garage Lights

Penulis : Admin Ashish Chaturevdi on Saturday, 4 September 2010 | 11:35

I realized that the 60 watt bulb in the garage wasn't going to cut it if i was in there working on the mower at night. So i decided to do the same thing i did in the basement and hang fluorescent lights. Again i went with the easy route, instead of wiring a switch and box, i just connected an extension cord to a "light bulb outlet." This way, whenever i turn on the light, the florescent bulbs turn on as well.cheap and easy garage lights, how to
Here's the easy way, so you don't have to install another switch.
