I'm almost ready for spring. I bought seeds the other day and combined with the seeds i've saved from things like soy beans from Jackson, Burger King Whopper tomatoes, and Meijer cantaloupes, i should be all set.

Here's the color coded planting layout. This year i'm planting lots and lots of sweet corn.

Garden - May

This year i figured it would be a cool idea to have a garden in the back yard. I started it in May and had to dig up the sod by hand and rototill the ground. And just to let you know, cutting sod by hand for an area 16'x12' isn't a lot of fun. Here's the area half way through sod cutting and then after tilling.

I planted seeds for:
sweet corn
carrots
onions
scallions
tomatoes
cherry tomatoes
beans
melons
watermelons
cantaloupe
gourds
pumpkins
sunflowers
sweet basil
